Gentlemen,
We are a mere hours away from the first exh. games scheduled for the new Elite DMHL.

There are a few things to point out as reminders.
We are operating out a premier facility. This arena is NHL size and the ice is a welcome change to what most of you are used to. Keep this in mind when you step out there.

Please respect the rules of the arena. There is no smoking inside the facility or the dressing rooms.
There is no alcohol permited inside the building or in the parking lot.
There is police patroling the area outside for added security so please don't try to drink out there. If you get caught, there is nothing I can do for you.

The security guards in the building have been informed of our presence. They have been instructed to assist our league and the players in anyway possible. They are also trained in first aid, which is a comfort in many ways. If you have any inquiries or questions or need assistance, do not hesitate to recruit their help.

Please use Parking lot "C". Some of you already know where this is. It is right in the front of the arena. Once you have parked your car, come into the building where I will be waiting for you. I will have sorted out how the parking passes will work at this point. Please note that each team is required to purchase these passes for $20 ... which covers your cars and guests.

Guests ... You are permitted friends and family to come and watch. The stands are very comfortable and warm. If you bring kiddies, please be sure that they don't wander into area's that are restricted, such as the upper levels or the zambonie area. The security are great people, but they were not hired to babysit. Now if I'm around, I'll watch over the little ones, but note that I am also required to run around, so it might be nesc. to leave them. I'll do my best for them though.
I won't leave them unattended.

MAKE SURE that each player has a minimum 1/2 sheild visor. This is mandatory in the league. The ref's are instructed not to allow any player with out some sort of face sheild.

Profanity and vulgar language. Guys...please try to keep it down a bit.
Remeber where we are as you never know who will be watching. Last year, the leaf brass had a peek at our weekend games and had comments on the type of
hockey that was played. You never know who will show up here.

Concerning the dressing rooms. There are 2 large rooms and 2 smaller rooms.
Everyone will have their chance at the bigger rooms so don't worry.
Please make sure you take care of this area also.
If I remember correctly, I was advised that the team name will be put on each room door as well as marked near the security desk on which room you have. If I'm not near the security desk, they will point you in the right direction.

Lastly, there are 3 teams here that know me. You know who you are. So you
also know my convenor, Jonathon. Jon, for short, is a guy, like myself,
who will bend over backwards to assist you. Should you need anything and I'm not around, please seek him out. He has the power to make decisions as I have trained him to do. I will back him up.

I will do whatever it takes to have your time here "TOP NOTCH". And if you
think this is a good thing .... just wait till the playoffs !!!

If you have anyother questions, please ask.

See you there.

Rick

Subject: Ricoh Information

Team reps,
I am sending this message to all team reps for theTuesday Elite League.
Each team is only Blind Copied to respect email privacy. And will be done this way in the future.

I have met with the Ricoh staff and finally ironed out a few issues that are now cleared up.

First off, there are out dates due to special events at the facility.
Winter Fair, Boat show, Christmas, new years, etc. Special events also include location assembly and tear down. These also take time. But to keep you playing as best as possible on a weekly schedule, I had to agree to take on a few Friday time slots. 4 to be exact. It was necessary otherwise you will be sitting out for many weeks until the functions are done.
I will be posting up the schedule as soon as the new calander is sent to me, which will be next week.

Parking. This was a touchy issue. Ricoh does not own the parking lots at the Ex. So they had to meet with the parking authority, then I had to meet with them, then they did again and I did again, etc and so on. It was a summer of talks. Last year, each car had to pay $8 to park their vehicle.
There could be a potential of 15 cars per team in the parking lot, which is about $120, per team, per game. Way too much. In the end, I managed to work out a deal of $40 per team, per game.
This will be handled in the way of parking passes and I will work out how the players will get them.
I am agreeing to pay half of this amount. So all the team is responsible for is $20 per game. Which based on 15 players is about $1.33 per guy ...
per game. I think thats fair and completely affordable.

Next is beer. I have been informed that this facility does not allow alcohol in the dressing rooms. Even though they sell beer during games, this is through their liquor license and does not extend to the renting of ice. The teams must be responsible enough to know not to drink in the rooms or the parking lot. These are their rules and I have to abide by them and so do you. There is no second chance with these guys so please do not get caught with beer in the rooms.

There will be security at the facility at all times and they are fully trained in first aid. They have also been instructed to assist us and you in any way possible. Kind of a fringe benefit.

Friends and family are invited to come and watch. It is a great place to watch our games.
But, if you bring children out, please please make sure they are limited to the stands and the general area. They cannot be roaming on the upper levels of the stands or anywhere near the zamboni room. It was very difficult last year to try to babysit and the security are not payed to do this.

Finally, There will always be a league representative at the games.
Jonathon Vidal
Dan Stott
are my league convenors. If I'm not around, they will be there to assist and convene. I will try to be there, but I also have a weekend league to run and there is much to do for this also.

My mandatory 1/2 visor rule still applies here. Make sure all players have this as a minimum. The refs will not allow a player to skate without one.

This is a primo facility with the greatest ice you can skate on. Please treat it with the respect it deserves.

I will contact you when the time draws near. If you have any questions, please ask.

Rick
