To all team reps,
This message is going out to all the teams that have signed on for the tuesday Ricoh league.
First off, welcome back to the teams from last year.
Secondly, welcome to all the new teams.
If you go onto
www.dmhl.ca you will see that the division has already been set up. Some team names are still in limbo, but thats not an issue. I can change that any time so be creative.
Each team Rep will be shortly recieving a login and password so that you can enter your roster and view your account status online. I would say within a few days. Once you get it, please go into it and enter your roster asap. Very important because there is NO exhibition games this year. Weare starting right away.
Start date will be Tuesday Sept 22nd.
Also, check that your deposit has been entered and is accurate. This is also very important.
If you have not sent in your deposit, do so asap as I have other teams on a waiting list for this division. They all have cash in hand and would gladly take over your spot. Deposit is due before the end of Aug, which is coming up. Please take this seriously.
Since there is no exh game, the regular season will be 21 games instead of the normal 20 as in previous years. So you still get the garanteed amount of games.
Parking. I have again nego'd the parking with the city and I will be getting the season long passes. This is included in your team fee's. which is $7600 tax in.
I am hoping i will have them ready for the first game. I will keep you posted on this.
Alcohol. a complete no no here. Last year was an issue. One team was caught by the liqour board. Ricoh almost lost their liqour licence. I got in major crap.
I WILL NOT JEAPORDIZE my ice for the sake of one team that defies this rule. That team from last year (thursday division)is not invited back this year. A decision made by myself and the Ricoh events co-ordinators. This includes the parking lot. It is part of the city grounds. You get caught, your done. period.
Out dates. Ricoh has events that keep us out of the facility. Teams from last year know this. But for the new teams, here's the drill.
We are out during the winter fair.
We are out during the Boat show.
These are not just one week things. It actually takes one week for setup, one week for the show, then one week for tear down. This is why some game are played on Fri/Sat's/Suns.These games will be at another rink till we're back, and scheduled bye weeks will be in effect.
The other times we're pushed out of tuesdays is if the marlies play during that period, which could be the day before or the day after. Then we are moved around to accomidate. But the marlies schedule effects more the thursday league, not tuesdays, so we dodged a bullit there.
I will set up a calander and send it to the reps shortly. I just need to confirm the dates before i send it. This will at least advise you what days we are where. It will be helpful for you to have this in setting up future plans.
Time starts. We are starting at 6:30pm and the last games will start at 10:30pm. This is to house a 10 team division. Games don't usually go past these times. We are very punctual and the facility is strict with this. Please don't delay in getting on the ice. The clock will start at the correct times.
There will always be a convenor or myself at your games. We will do what it takes, within reason, to assist you out should the need arise.
Referees. Abuse of an official is not tolerated. Threats, gross misc., verbal abuse, etc, will result in league discipline. The ref's are off limits. Talk to them yes, joke around yes, inquire calmly yes. You will find that most ref's will explain to you the questioned call or your inquiry if you are civil. But if your screaming, swearing, chasing down, slaming doors, etc, why wouldthey even try to talk to you? I wouldn't.
Facility respect. This is a premier facility. Please treat it as such. Any damage or vandalism will result in league discipline and the repair bill going to the team rep. Be mature about your actions.
1/2 shield visor or cage is mandatory. If you bring out a sub for a game, make sure you tell him. The rule means mandatory. I hate to not allow them to play, but, thats the way it goes.
All team fees are due by the end of November. This means ALL teams. Please note this and advise your guys to get the payment thing out of the way.

This is a Tuesday league. But will have out dates, as last year. We will try to keep most of the games on the tuesdays as best we can, depending on ice availability. De La Salle, St.mikes or U.C.C., would be our other options. Boat show and Winter fair, are the biggest out date issues.
- Ice costs have been confirmed and the team fee's will be $7600 per team. Which includes parking passes.
- This will be a 10 team division.
- Calibre isa mid"B". So, it will not be ahigh calibre but also not a low calibre either.Do not stack your team with high calibre players.
- Game times are at a 6:30pm start and the last game starting at 10:30pm.
These are the most asked questions, so i thought i would give you these answers.
I have, at this moment, 4 teams on a waiting list.
I must have a deposit sent out to hold your spots. We are requiring $1000 sent out asap. Sorry guys, but i must have this to hold your spot. These other teams are dying to join and are willing to send me deposits right now. Hard to turn them away.
Deadline for deposit is the end of July. Then i will go with the next team in line.
